Diagnostic laboratory testing is one of the many in-house health services offered by Northeast Louisiana Kidney Specialists. Our in-house laboratory services were licensed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) division in June 2002. In-house laboratory services are convenient for our patients and provide quality and accurate test results faster than traditional reference laboratories. Current in-house laboratory tests include basic hematology testing, routine chemistry testing and urinalysis testing consisting of over 40 different kidney diagnostic laboratory tests. All Northeast Louisiana Kidney Specialists laboratory personnel are licensed by the State of Louisiana and engage in continuing education activities every year to stay current with industry standards and new developments. In addition to our ongoing Quality Assurance program, routine Proficiency Testing (PT) is performed on our laboratory tests to ensure consistency with other laboratory service providers around the country. Other necessary laboratory tests ordered but not performed in-house are referred to a local and accredited reference laboratory where specialty tests are performed.
